Generative AI Statement

Dear Reader,

AI is a powerful and useful tool. In fact, I used it to create the website you're looking at now. However, I know that many creative outlets are being inundated with AI slop, monetizing quantity over quality. Perhaps "Generative" is a misnomer. By their nature, based on the way that LLMs are trained, they cannot create, only regurgitate.

For me, Nadir is a work of passion. I'm not writing just to write. I'm writing to say something true and meaningful. AI is a good tool, but not for that. To all of my readers, this is my pledge to you:

I have never and will never use AI to generate prose or story prompts. All ideas expressed in this work are my own. All prose is written by me, in Google Docs, with a keyboard that I built for this purpose. I take great pride in my craft. I have written, read, and rewritten every line of this novel, more times than I can count. I have agonized over every word. This work is of the utmost importance to me and I am thrilled to share it with you.
